unNiched 2011 Fellows
The unNiched 2011 Fellowship program is designed to ensure exceptional students and individuals from non-profit organizations (in the health arena) are recognized and have the opportunity to participate in unNiched activities.
unNiched Fellows receive:
- Support for registration, housing and transportation costs associated with attending certain unNiched events
- Recognition at unNiched events and online
The responsibilities of unNiched 2011 Fellows include:
- Attendance and participation at certain unNiched events
- Active participation in the Path of the Blue Eye Project’s online knowledge community, Living the Path
- Develop blog posts to be published on Project’s blog, Walking the Path

Meet the unNiched 2011 Fellows
Amelia Burke
Amelia Burke is the Director of Digital Media for AED and brings with her more than eight years of experience in online and digital media. She has developed and implemented hundreds of innovative digital and social media campaigns for private sector and public sector clients. She also is the author of the S.O.C.I.A.L. (Strategic Online Communication, Insights and Learnings) framework. Previously, she has worked for agencies in the DC area on eMarketing and online communications for both domestic and international public health campaigns. Most recently, Amelia was the Group Supervisor for the Social Media and Relationship Marketing Division at Horizon Media, a full service media agency in New York City. There, she managed and grew the social media team, leading campaigns for clients such as GEICO, Cadbury, and A&E. Ms. Burke has a master’s degree in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from McGill University.
Eleonora (Nori) Flautner
Eleonora (Nori) Flautner has devoted her career to improving the public health outcomes of college-age youth, especially on the international level. Currently calling Washington DC home, Nori is both a candidate for a Master’s degree in Public Health Communication and Marketing at George Washington University and a graduate assistant in the Health Education Services office at Georgetown University.
She recently finished a practicum with DKT Indonesia, traveling to Jakarta to learn directly about their cutting-edge HIV/AIDS prevention programs and marketing campaigns to better inform her grant-writing activities on behalf of the organization. Nori grew up in Hungary until she was 13, and received her Master’s degree from Columbia University Teachers College in Health Education, and her Bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Nori is married, she and her husband have two young girls.
